A three-year programme commencing in 2023 and targeting the host project communities in Duyen Hai Town and Duyen Hai District aims to bolster resilience and improve livelihoods in the face of risks posed by climate change.

Spearheaded by Climate Investor One’s TWPC Wind Project and its community development partner, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation (“SNV”), the initiative focuses on enhancing sustainability and inclusivity in the horticulture and aquaculture sectors.

The programme focuses on

  • Improving climate smart and sustainable agricultural production,
  • Developing horticulture and aquaculture value chains, and
  • gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.

Mr. Lê Văn Minh (pictured), a shrimp farmer in Long Toan commune who is developing skills in sustainable shrimp farming supported by the TWPC Project commented "The 100,000 shrimp larvae I received are growing well and the water quality metering tools shared amongst the organized farmer group are very useful to make farming more effective. I would like to thank the donor and the project.”

In 2024, SNV supported a farmer group under the programme to attain the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Certification from the government, which aims to promote local agricultural products. SNV plans to leverage this certification to bring higher returns for the traditional shrimp farmers.

By promoting sustainable and inclusive agricultural practices, the initiative aims to improve livelihoods, household income and climate resilience.
